Pablo “Gavi” Gaviria of Barcelona has won the 2022 Kopa Trophy as the world’s best under-21 player at the ongoing Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.
The trophy is awarded to the season’s best under-21 player, and the 18-year-old La Masia graduate was named the winner this year due to his sensational performance for his club and country, Spain.
Gavi finished ahead of Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga and Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala to win the award for the second year in a row. He received the award from his teammate Pedri, who won the Kopa last year.
