Idris Elba Shares Vision For Africa’s Film Industry With President Akufo-Addo

 

English actor of African descent, Idris Elba, has expressed interest to support the African movie industry with his wide-span knowledge in film.

Elba met with, and made his intentions known to H. E. Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, President of Ghana and the C.E.O of the Ghana Investment Promotion Center, (GIPC), Yofi Grant who he met in Washington DC, America during the US-Africa Leaders Conference.

The award-winning Actor, Musician, & Filmmaker “wishes to lend his depth of experience and expertise to the African film industry”, this according to a post by the GIPC.

“It is envisioned that a partnership with the award-winning actor and filmmaker would pave the way for more major films to be made on the Continent to amplify authentic African stories,” the post adds.

Elba, who has roots in Sierra Leone and Ghana, illustrates people of African descent who have achieved great success in the global entertainment industry, as such, it is envisioned that a partnership with the award-winning actor and film maker would pave the way for more major films to be made on the continent to amplify authentic African stories.
