Twitter Boss Elon Musk Comments On Poll Results Indicating His Ouster

Twitter Chief Executive Elon Musk says he is keen for a competent person to fill up the role of Head of Twitter.

Musk had earlier shared a poll on the social media platform whose results suggested they would prefer he steps down from the role. Over 17 million users participated in the poll with an overwhelming number voting for his exit.

However, in a twist and turn of events, the technology guru has since made users question whether he shall go back on his earlier announcement of honoring the Twitter poll’s results.

“The question is not finding a CEO, the question is finding a CEO who can keep Twitter alive,” he shared in response to a blog that had opined that it had previously asked Musk to hire someone as CEO from the word go.

On Monday, Musk who doubles up as the Tesla CEO tweeted, “Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll”

57.5 percent voted yes while 42.5 voting no.

Musk would then share as if in denial, “As the saying goes, be careful what you wish, as you might get it.”

Musk received love and hate in equal measure since he took over the bird app, in October 2022. During the takeover, he shared that he bought the application so that he could try and help humanity whom he loved and not ‘to make more money.’

The co-founder of six companies in his first move as Twitter boss fired top executives as well as laying off 50 percent of its staff.

He then defended the move saying businesses experienced a ‘massive drop’ in revenue as many advertisers withdrew and also alleged that activists are ‘trying to destroy free speech in America.’

He has since been radical in changing Twitter announcing new developments every now and then with some of his Twitter updates eliciting a sharp division between him and the application’s users.
