Meghan Markle's Friend Urges Her To 'Do The Right Thing' As Dad's Health Worsens

Lizzie Cundy is urging her former friend, Meghan Markle, to put the past behind her and start a relationship with her dad again.

Meghan's dad, Thomas, 78, has had a series of health scares in recent years including a stroke in May 2022 which left him hospitalised and has also affected his speech.

In 2018 he endured heart surgery days before Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry, meaning he missed their royal wedding before suffering a second heart attack days after.

Thomas previously disclosed the contents of his hospital bill which showed his discharge date as May 17, two days before his youngest daughter tied the knot.

Now, the pair have no relationship after members of the Markle family leaked stories to the media, slamming Meghan.

But as his health continues to deteriorate, Meghan still has no relationship with her dad despite his pleas to reconcile.

Speaking to the Mirror, Lizzie, 54, said: "Meghan needs to do the right thing at last before it's too late.

"Her dad is seriously ill, he's had a terrible stroke and he's trying to reach out to her – family is everything, she needs to realise it.

"As does Harry, Thomas hasn't met his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet yet."

The pair met in 2013 when Lizzie was asked to sit with the actress at a charity event held by her pal John Caudwell, Meghan allegedly wanted a role on Made In Chelsea and Lizzie attempted to set her up with Ashley Cole.

In what he has claimed to be his final interview, Thomas issued an emotional plea to the Duchess as he asked: "How can I fix this?"

Thomas previously explained he was "lucky to be alive" after his latest stroke which has seen his two other children, Thomas Jnr and Samantha Markle rally to be around him.

Former Suits actress Meghan had reportedly been concerned about Thomas' condition and made a move to reach out to him.
