Luis Enrique Appointed New PSG Manager

Former Barcelona and Spain manager Luis Enrique has been named as Paris Saint-Germain's new manager.

It comes after the club revealed Christophe Galtier's dismissal after only one season.

Enrique has been unemployed since leaving Spain at the conclusion of the World Cup, and this is his first role in club management since leaving Barcelona in May 2017.

'I'm happy to be joining Paris in order to have a fresh adventure,' he said on the club's official website.

'It's thrilling to meet new people, live in this city, learn a new language, and, most importantly, manage PSG.'

Enrique had previously been on the wish lists of both Chelsea and Tottenham after leaving Spain following their last-16 loss to Morocco in Qatar.

His time at Barcelona was a huge success, as he won LaLiga, the Champions League, and the Copa del Rey three times.

Galtier was only in charge for a season after being hired in July 2022. Despite leading PSG to Ligue 1 and the Trophee des Champions, he was fired.
