After five hard rounds, Joshua busted up and damaged Sweden's Wallin, whose corner pulled him out.
Wallin gave Tyson Fury a good fight in 2019, but he was no match for Joshua.
Joshua boxed with good technique but was looking for a knockout from the start.
He stamped his influence on every round, and really damaged Wallin in the fifth with a big right cross-left hook combination.
Wallin, clearly bruised and wounded, was retired on his stool at the end of the fifth round.
