On Christmas Eve, singer Mariah Carey smashed the all-time record for most Spotify streams in a single day.
In 2023, "All I Want For Christmas Is You" was streamed 23,701,697 times. Mariah broke the previous streaming record she established on Christmas Eve last year, when the song was streamed 21,273,357 times.
This year, Mariah has been competing for the title of "Queen of Christmas" with Brenda Lee, and for the first time since Mariah's reign began, Brenda topped Billboard's Hot 100 for one week during the holiday season.
She was a good sport about it, sending Brenda flowers and a note of congratulations. Mariah reclaimed first place the next week.
