Davido Earns His First Ever Entry On The Hot 100 This Week With ‘Sensational’

Davido and Lojay make their Billboard Hot 100 debuts with featured honors on Chris Brown's "Sensational."

The song, which was released on October 20 by CBE/RCA Records, debuted at No. 96 on the Hot 100 (dated February 3) with 15.7 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 14%) and 2.6 million official U.S. streams (up 3%) in the tracking week of January 19-25, according to Luminate.

The song is Brown's second single from his 11th studio album, 11:11, which was released in November. The album launched and peaked at No. 1 on the R&B Albums chart and No. 9 on the Billboard 200.

"Sensational" has been gaining traction across radio formats, rising 11-9 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, 16-10 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, 16-14 on Rhythmic Airplay, and debuting at No. 30 on Adult R&B Airplay. On the all-format Radio Songs list, it moves from 49 to 44.

Davido, from Osun State, Nigeria, has emerged as one of the most prominent Afrobeats performers of the last decade. He has four studio albums in his career: Omo Baba Olowo (2012), A Good Time (2019), A Better Time (2020), and Timeless (March 2023). His two most recent albums peaked at Nos. 170 and 37 on the Billboard 200, marking his first entries on the chart.

Davido also has 25 tracks on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats tracks list. This is the fourth highest total among all artists since the list's inception in 2022, after only Burna Boy (44), Asake (34) and Wizkid (27). Three of the 25 hits reached the top ten: "Stand Strong," featuring Sunday Service Choir (No. 9 in 2022), "Unavailable," starring Musa Keys (No. 3, 2023), and "Over Dem" (No. 10, 2023).

Davido has 27 singles on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart, 18 of which have reached the top ten, dating back to 2016. That is the second most among Afrobeats musicians, following Wizkid (29).

"Sensational" is not Davido and Brown's first collaboration. The pair also collaborated on "Blow My Mind" and "Lower Body," both in 2019, "Shopping Spree," both with Young Thug, in 2021, and "Nobody Has to Know" in 2022. Davido has collaborated with Nicki Minaj, Pop Smoke, Popcaan, Quavo, Rae Sremmurd, and Summer Walker, among others.

He'll be performing at Madison Square Garden in April as part of his extended Timeless Tour. He has also been nominated for three Grammy Awards at the next ceremony: best global music performance ("Feel"), best African music performance ("Unavailable"), and best global music album ("Timeless").
