Rema Becomes First African Artist To Win A Chinese Music Award

Divine Ikubor, also known as Rema, a Nigerian music sensation, has made history as the first African musician to win a Chinese music prize.

The young Afrobeat prodigy's global impact continues to grow as he adds this astounding milestone to his list of accomplishments. The singer accomplished the feat as his song 'Calm Down' remix with American diva Selena Gomez won Best Collaboration of the Year at the 2024 Hito Music Award in the Republic of China.

The award was presented by Hit FM in Taiwan and hosted by DJ Andy. Rema joins American and British artists as one of the rare international musicians to win the Taiwanese honor.

Taylor Swift, an American global pop sensation, is one of the most recognized foreign musicians at the awards ceremony, having won more than six.
