The nominees for the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, which is scheduled to hold on May the 11th of 2024, have been announced.
With an abundance of talents and great productions available, the categories for the awards vary from best digital content, best indigenous language film, best lead actor , best supporting actor to best over all movie.
The list went on to recognize every side of the entertainment field in Africa.
According to the released list, Tolu Ajayi’s over the bridge leads with 12 nominations, including nominations in the Best Movie, Best Director, and Best Lead Actress categories.
C.J Fiery Obasi’s black and white film, Mami water follows closely with 11 nominations, Breath of Life and Jagun Jagun – The Warrior had 10 nominations each and A Tribe Called Judah follows with five nominations.
Timini Egbuson and Funke Akindele’s nominations in the the Best Supporting Actor and Best Actress categories respectively added up to the list.
Femi Adebayo and Funke Akindele emerged as the actors with the most nominations for their diverse roles in the movies Jagun Jagun and A Tribe Called Judah, respectively.
The best movie category contains only films made by Nigerian film makers which includes the following movies: Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti by Bolanle Austen Peters, Breath of Life by BB Sasore, Over The Bridge by Bose Oshin, Moses Nwangs Blood Vessel, Funke Akindele’s A Tribe Called Judah, The Black Book, from first-time director, Editi Effiong, and the second highest nominated movie Mami Wata by CJ Obasi ends the nominee list for that category.
