Rape: Judge Orders Arrest Of Former Man City Striker Robinho

The judge has ordered Robinho, a Brazilian football great, to be arrested.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester City striker will serve a nine-year sentence imposed by an Italian court in the South American country.

Brazil's Superior Court of Justice (STJ) evaluated the Italian request, which received approval on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, based on the sentence issued in 2017 and approved in 2022.

"I hope that here in Brazil I can have the voice that I didn't have there," Robinho, who has maintained his innocence, said in an interview with the Brazilian network TV Record on Sunday.

Robson de Souza, often known as "Robinho," remains free despite his conviction for being one of six men who gang raped a young Albanian woman celebrating her 23rd birthday at a Milan nightclub in 2013.
