Eddie Murphy Would 'Absolutely' Return To Shrek As Donkey

Eddie Murphy has admitted he would reprise his role as Donkey from Shrek "in two seconds", before saying the Puss in Boots movies aren't as funny as they could have been.

The 61-year-old actor won the hearts of viewers when he first voiced Shrek's hilarious sidekick back in 2001 and has since returned for several spinoffs.

Speaking about a possible return to the role, Eddie said he would "absolutely" be willing to do a reboot.

"I'd absolutely be open if they ever came with another Shrek, I'd do it in two seconds. I love Donkey," Eddie said in a new interview.

"You know, they did Puss in Boots movies. I was like, 'They should have did a Donkey movie. Donkey is funnier than Puss in Boots'.

"I mean, I love Puss in Boots, but he ain’t funny as the Donkey."

The comedian also said he would do a Donkey movie and a fifth Shrek film "in two seconds".

"DreamWorks, if you all want to do it, just call me. I’m ready, I’m sitting and ready to do Donkey," he told Etalk.

Eddie's comments come after the new Puss in Boots film, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, surpassed the $300million (£242million) mark at the global box office.
