AirtelTigo Ghana Sold, Rebrands To AT

The Ghanaian telecommunications behemoth AirtelTigo Ghana has been officially sold.

The company has officially rebranded to "AT" in a new seconds video.

Although this is a developing story, the company's colors are still red, white, and blue, and its slogan is "Life Is Simple."

In 2021, Bharti Airtel announced in a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange that the Government of Ghana has finalized its acquisition of AirtelTigo.

"This follows our announcements dated October 27, 2020, and April 16, 2021, regarding the Government of Ghana's acquisition of ownership of the AirtelfTigo Joint Venture." "We are pleased to inform you that the transaction has been completed and that the Government of Ghana now owns 100% of Airtel Tigo," Bharti Airtel declared in the filing.

AirtelTigo is a joint venture between Bharti Airtel and telecom operator Millicom International Cellular SA that operates in the country as a joint venture. The Indian telecommunications company controls 49.95% of the joint venture. In 2017, the joint venture was completed.
