Mark Zuckerberg To Launch Twitter Rival Threads Within Days

Meta, a subsidiary of Facebook, is set to unveil a new app to compete with Twitter on Thursday, June 6.

Threads, the app, will be integrated with Instagram.

Screenshots show a dashboard that resembles Twitter. Threads is described as a "text-based conversation app" by Meta.

According to Meta, 'Threads' is now available for pre-order on the Apple Store and will be linked to Instagram.

The new product is described as a "text-based conversation app" by the company.

"Threads is where communities come together to discuss everything from the topics you care about today to what will be trending tomorrow," according to the app's description on the Apple Store.

The new Meta app is supposed to be a clone of the popular microblogging platform, Twitter, and its release coincides with Musk's introduction of numerous new features.

The announcement comes months after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter Chairman Elon Musk pledged to compete in a cage battle.

"Thank goodness they're so sanely run," Mr Musk responded to a Threads tweet, an apparent new jab at Mr. Zuckerberg.

Meanwhile, Twitter has announced that the popular user dashboard TweetDeck would be placed behind a paywall in 30 days.

Mr. Musk's latest move is an attempt to persuade users to subscribe to Twitter's subscription service, Twitter Blue.
