Kylian Mbappe 'To Join Real Madrid On A Free Transfer From PSG This Summer

Kylian Mbappe has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires this summer.

According to French transfer market specialist Santi Aouna via Footmercato, Mbappe reached an agreement with Real Madrid a few days ago and committed his future to the La Liga giants after rejecting to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappe was free to engage with other clubs on January 1, since he had legally entered the final six months of his PSG deal. As a result, Real Madrid began negotiations with the 25-year-old shortly thereafter.

On January 4, Mbappe stated that he had not made a choice about his future but was "very, very motivated for this year".

"This is very significant. As I previously stated, we have titles to pursue, and we have already obtained one. After then, I have still to make up my decision. "I haven't made a decision," Mbappe explained.

"With the agreement I reached with the President last summer, regardless of my decision, we were able to protect all parties and maintain the club's peace for the challenges ahead, which is still the most essential thing. So let's call it secondary.

Both Mbappe and Real Madrid have been involved in transfer sagas in the last two summers, but Footmercato and Aouana, a highly respected source of transfer news in his homeland, have reported that Mbappe will join Real Madrid in July after reaching an agreement with the La Liga giants "a few days ago".
