Sacrifice Or Not Lucky: The Unsudden Deaths Of Newcastle United Stars Cheick Tioté And Christian Atsu

On February 18, 2023, ex-Black Stars winger Christian Atsu died, and many people took to social media to mourn the loss of a world talent.

On February 6th, 2023, it was reported that an earthquake had devastated parts of Turkey and Syria, even as the window for finding people alive was closing.

The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck south-eastern Turkey and northern Syria trapped Ghanaian football star Christian Atsu in rubble after his residence, a 9-story building, collapsed.

For more than 8 days, the football star was not found, despite news reports that voices were heard under rubbles, his shoes were seen, and finally, a revelation that he was in a coma.

Christian Atsu, Black star player, was a Newcastle United loanee from Chelsea in 2016-2017, where he played 35 matches and scored 5 goals.

He later left Chelsea on a permanent basis to join Newcastle United, where he played 86 games and scored three goals. He had already played six games for Newcastle United U23 and scored one goal.

Christian Atsu, an African-born Ghanaian with the skills of Lionel Messi, died at the age of 31. He was an excellent winger and dribbler.

According to our headline, Cheick Tioté and Christian Atsu, both top players for Newcastle United, died in their 30s and were Africans.

Cheick Tioté, an Ivorian top midfielder on the other side, died of a heart attack during a training session in June 2017 at the age of 30. Tioté appeared 55 times for the Ivory Coast national team between 2009 and 2015, scoring once.

Tiote died while training with Chinese club Beijing Enterprises, according to www.sunderlandecho.com. His family is still unsure what caused his sudden and tragic death at the age of 30 as they await the results of a post-mortem examination, but a suspected heart attack appears to be the most likely cause at this point.

Only eight years later, another African player, Christian Atsu, who joined Newcastle United and played his heart out, died.
